Built to Last

A fortified place.

The name Bury comes from the Old English byrig — a fortified place. A fitting name for a firm that protects property rights.

Andy Bury founded the firm in 1980. He left Capitol Hill to build a different kind of practice — focused on Virginia real estate law, small enough to know every client by name, rigorous enough to handle the hardest disputes.

He spent close to five decades doing exactly that. Building a reputation case by case, referral by referral, closing by closing.

Building on the foundation.

David Bury sharpened the firm's litigation practice. He opened the Richmond office and pushed deeper into riparian law, easement disputes, and HOA litigation. He writes the briefs. He argues the motions. He tries the cases. He picks up the phone.

What hasn’t changed.

The firm is small by design. You won't get handed off to a paralegal or lost in a queue. When you hire Bury & Co., you work with your attorney. That's not a selling point — it's how we practice.

Thousands of closings. Hundreds of disputes. And we still return every phone call.
